Are there are dangerous animals in the poetry garden?
Mike will be talking about poetry and demonstrating a range of short poems from nursery rhymes to a pop songs, and from modern poets writing about ordinary life, to Shakespeare writing about love and friendship. If you love poetry you’ll love this. If you love English words you’ll love this. If you want to know more about English you’ll love this. If you think you hate poetry….you may just leave with a new feeling!

1. Thursday February 17th (7:00pm-8.30pm GMT) Poetry in the garden with Mike Teacher is an event where you can learn about poetry and improve your listening, vocabulary and meet new people.

2. Thursday February 24th (7:00pm-8:30pm GMT) This is the official opening of the English City Poetry Garden with the famous poet Juan Felipe Herrera. You will be able to meet Juan, ask him questions about his poetry and listen to him reading his poems. It will be great practice for your listening skills and also a special opportunity to meet a poet from the USA.
